Born in Padua in 1971, Agostino Rocco lives and works between Padua and Milan.

At the base of the faces of the series “fashionable/questionable” there is a short circuit between the artist’s obsession for Renaissance portraiture of contained dimensions (Antonello Da Messina, Bellini, Lotto, Memling, Jan Van Eyck) with its quota of abstraction and the fashion images with their clear volumes and the luministic cut that is and wants to be photographic. Invisible brushstrokes if not to the touch and beautiful and imperfect faces, subtly incongruous in their proportions.
Every skin color, age and emotion.
They are imaginary portraits of non-existents despite the precision of the detail and the search for a hyper-realistic skin grain stretched over unreal subjects.
